All coaches must have up to date clearances.  Clearances are valid for 5 years from the date received.  The following clearances are required:

• PA State Police Criminal Record Check - Click on Submit a New Record Check.  Cost is FREE for volunteers.
• PA Child Abuse History Clearance - Enter the Child Welfare Portal by clicking Create Individual Account (first timers) or Individual Login (renewing clearance).  Cost is FREE for volunteers.
• Act 153 Volunteer Affidavit - This form may be used in lieu of the FBI Criminal Background check if you have been a resident of PA during the entirety of the past 10 years.  This form must be signed in front of a notary public.
• FBI Criminal Background Check - This is only needed if you have not been a resident of PA during any portion of the past 10 years.  Cost is $27.50.

PA West requires all coaches to complete an introductory coaching training (at minimum). Travel coaches may be required to complete additional coaching licenses based on team's age level. All Travel coaches and Travel players (over the age of 18) are required to complete the online SafeSport training and expected to renew their certification on an annual basis.

• Introduction to Grassroots Coaching - minimum requirement for In-House and Travel coaches.
  
• SafeSport - Accessed through the Digital Coaching Center. The United States Soccer Federation (USSF) requires that everyone 18 and older (participating in Travel Soccer) receives Safe-Sport training.
